Fun and flirty, Peek-a is a fast and user-friendly crochet project.

Worked in joined rounds, the Juliet cap starts at the crown with a charming little flower created with treble-crochet cluster stitches. If you haven’t made cluster stitches before, this is the tricky part of the pattern. (Thank goodness for YouTube!) The pattern also includes a step-by-step photo tutorial on how to make the flower.

Then, on the sides, an openwork pattern evokes the boho chic of granny-square stitches – and shows glimpses of your beautiful hair.

Using less than a 50-gram skein of DK yarn, the pattern includes four adult sizes: Small (Medium, Large, Extra Large) to fit head circumferences of 21 (22, 23, 24) in./53 (56, 58, 61) cm. If you use worsted weight yarn, you may need a bit more than 50 grams of yarn for the larger sizes.

Pick a solid color yarn for an elegant rendition of the Peek-a. Or try a self-striping yarn and enjoy the process of watching the different colors unfold as you crochet this lacy confection. Whatever your yarn choice, you’ll delight in wearing your own one-of-a-kind creation.

NOTES: Sample hats are crocheted in KnitPicks Chroma Worsted in Groovy and Holiday Yarns Super Sheep DK in St. Elmo’s Fire. For best results, use a light worsted yarn (approx. 220 yd/100g) or a heavy DK yarn (approx. 240-260 yd/100g).
