The hand-sized flamingo is knitted flat in 5 pieces: body/head, wings, and legs. This is a quick project that takes approximately two hours to complete. String it up and turn it into a lovely tree ornament or leave as-is to be gifted as a favor, gift topper, or stand-alone toy. Finished dimensions: approximately 4” by 9” tall.

Included are a series of instructional photos as well as instructions for the neck armature.

The main body can easily be knitted in the round using US 7 needles, however I recommend knitting flat starting from the neck up - this makes the insertion of the armature much easier. The legs are made by knitting I-cord.

Basic knitting and embroidery skills are required. You will need DPNs or circular needles in the smaller size (US 3 or 4 in the pattern). You will also need a pipe cleaner for the neck support. Small amounts of contrast pink, white, and black yarns in worsted weight or slightly lighter are required for beak, legs, and wing fringe.
