This is two days 164 yd (150 m) yarn quick knitting project. The pattern is suitable for beginner knitters, only in two colors. Work top to down, in the round with double point needles, using the stocking and purl stitches.

Yarn we suggest:

  1. any bulky 12-ply weight yarn. The original socks are knitted with pure sheep wool yarn 7wpi, shades - undyed gray +/- 3½ oz (100–110g) and light pink > 0.5 oz (10–15g);
  2. any sock yarn 6-ply double taken (6ply + 6ply held together = bulky).

Gauge: 16x24 stitches 4x4” /10x10cm in stocking stitch on needles US size 6 (EU 4 mm), after blocking.

Needles: US size 6 (EU 4 mm), UK (old) 8.
If you get too many stitches on 4” (10 cm), change to a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 4” (10 cm), change to a smaller needle size.

Notions: 4 stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors, measuring tape.
Skills: stocking and purl stitches, ribbing, heel flap, heel decrease, gusset.
Level of difficulty: the pattern is suitable for beginner knitters.
