This pattern is available for $6.50 USD buy it now

I’ve been a bit obsessed with mosaic crochet polka dots lately, it’s such a fun and happy way to play with colors! Here is the latest addition to that series, the Pixies polka dot square. Hot off the hook for you to play around with.

Since I won’t be making a video for this one (I have a nasty cold!), I thought i’d do something sweet for you instead and to celebrate the publishing of my Pixies Square I’ll put on a little 2 for 1 offer in my Ravelry shop until april 7th. use code PIXIES and you can get all the patterns in my Ravelry shop on a 2 for 1 offer, that’s buy 1 and get 1 FREE! I think you’ll then get the cheaper one for free, just put any 2 patterns in your chart and you’ll see the offer applied at checkout, BEFORE finalising your payment.

Pattern info

This here is just a quick little pattern ONLY for the basic square. It comes with both written instructions for the square as well as a chart. Furthermore, I include an extra chart for a larger size Pixies square and then some general instructions on how to work the square in an infinity version. The larger size square and the infinity version do not come with written instructions per each round.

At the end of the pattern I also include various layouts showing you how to join your squares into a bag. Please note that this pattern does not include written instructions for how to make the bag, other than just showing you the layouts.

Abbreviations (US terms):

ST = stitch/stitches
SS = slip stitch
CH = chain stitch
SC = single crochet
FPSC = front post single crochet
DC = double crochet
BUBBLE = 2 double crochet stitches worked together into the same ST

Colors

When working the mosaic patterns, each row is worked with only one colour at a time. I recommend always using contrasting colours for A and B, that way the pattern pop more. You can either just work this with two colours or mix it up and change the color for each round of the pixie polka dots. I make a note in the pattern where to change colors.

This pattern comes with user-friendly charts. If lefthanded, you can follow the chart from left to right no problem, it´ll look the same.

Yarn & hook:

You can use any yarn you like for this pattern and a hook that suits your yarn. You’ll need a few skeins in the same color for the main color and then the little pixie rounds are perfect for scraps, since you only work 2 rounds in the same color there.
If using only 2 colors, you will need approx. the same amount for both colors.

Sizes:

The size of each square will depend on the yarn, hook and gauge you are using for your project. For example, when using sports weight yarn and a 3 mm hook, you should get a square that measures approximately 15 cm.

You can make your Pixie squares both smaller and larger and then join your squares into blankets, bags or cushions of any size you please.
