Pomme de terre is a soft a squishy garter stitch scarf that stands out because of the huge pompoms at either end (although if you so prefer you can make these smaller!). Pomme de terre is French for potato. This scarf is the perfect potato chip knitting. As you’re working on it you’ll find yourself saying “just one more row!”. Perfect for more experienced knitter as some mindless knitting, but also well suited to newer knitters.

Gauge isn’t important for this project. Just make sure you end up with a soft squishy fabric suitable for a scarf. Gauge for the sample is 15 stitches and 27 rows per 4 inches in garter stitch. Do be aware that if your gauge is very different from this it will affect how much yarn you need!

Materials:
• 600 meters (660 yards) of aran weight yarn.
• 6.0 mm (US 10) circular or straight needles.
• Tapestry needle.
• Pompom maker.
