This is the pattern from 2018 Project Peace.

Project Peace is a global knitalong supplemented with daily blog posts in December on The Healthy Knitter blog. In 2018, we completed our 3rd year with several thousand participants. The KAL culminates on December 21, World-Wide Knit for Peace Day.

The 2018 Project Peace pattern symbolizes “seeds of peace” representing that age-old wisdom that one simple seed, one peaceful act, can nurture others, growing and cultivating the peace we all seek. Blog posts from December 1-21 offered simple steps readers/knitters can take to create more peace and harmony in their own life, even as simple as enjoying a 20-minute walk in the outdoors.

Proceeds from the 2018 Project Peace pattern were donated to Seeds of Peace, a summer camp that teaches youth from around the world to be leaders providing them the skills to transform their communities and resolve conflict. We also supported Gardens for Health, an organization working to end chronic malnutrition, a known predictor of violence.

e-book There is also an ebook available with additional patterns that focus on seeds and peace. These additional patterns will be released prior to December 2019.

Peace is a choice…. it begins with each one of us to be a seed of peace. During these times of unrest and conflict, we, as knitters can be role models for what it means to choose peace.
