Rae is a pretty little bunny who loves flowers and giggles. A great size for little cuddles, make without the flower crown for a neutral, versatile pattern!

Rae is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in US (American) terms. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished items. My Rae is approx. 21cm tall (8 inches).

You will need:

  • 2.75mm hook/C-2 (US)
  • 8ply yarn/DK or Light Worsted > 50g yarn in TAN, less than 50g for PINK, PURPLE and WHITE
  • BLACK 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
  • Polyester toy stuffing
  • Stitch marker

Notes:

  • Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.
  • When changing colour, pull through the new colour on the stitch before you need it. This will ensure that you have the correct colour yarn on the hook for the upcoming stitch.
  • Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
  • Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished item.
  • I’ve used the following yarns: TAN = Scheepjes Stonewashed in “831 Axinite” o PINK = Scheepjes Stonewashed in “836 Tourmaline” o PURPLE = Scheepjes Stonewashed in “808 Corundum Ruby” o WHITE = Stylecraft Classique Cotton in “3660 White”
  • I have used embroidered the eyes. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
