Rainbows of Hope are the perfect quarantine project! They are quick and easy to make and great stash busters as you will only need about 3 yards of each color per rainbow. The pattern is written for a sport weight yarn on a size US 1 needle, but the size can easily be adjusted to any weight of yarn! Just change your needle accordingly to ensure that the stitches are loose enough to knit into without looking “hole-y” when stuffed with filling.

The rainbows are worked flat with simple increases and decreases (M1R, M1L, SSK, K2tog) and are then seamed using mattress stitch.

My hope for these rainbows is that they will bring you and your friends and neighbors cheer and hope during this strange and unprecedented time. Hang them from a friend’s door knob, send them in the mail, hang them in your window, tuck them into a food drop-off for a friend or relative. There are endless ways these rainbows can brighten up someone’s day!

Knitters are givers and I want to give back, too. For each pattern that is sold, I will donate $3 to Feeding America to help ensure food security for the most vulnerable in our country. Find more about this great non-profit charity and the frontline work they are doing at their website: feedingamerica.org.

I’d love to see your finished rainbows and see how you are brightening our world one Rainbow of Hope at a time! Please tag me in your photos on Instagram @rosieposieknits. If you have questions about the pattern, please email me at rosieposiebabyknits@gmail.com.

Thanks for purchasing my pattern and for bringing more love to our world!
