Broebel the realistic badger
This is a .pdf crochet pattern, written in standard American crochet terms. With this easy pattern, you can make a realistic, seamless crochet badger. The only parts you need to attach afterwards are the nose and ears. This badger slowly takes shape as you make it! It is made with basic stitches, with each step explained in detail to ensure that even beginners can create this realistic badger amigurumi.
My pattern format includes instructions like ‘sc in next, 2 sc in next, invdec,’ etc. I chose this format because it works better for creating realistic amigurumi.
NOTE: this is an updated version of an older pattern, so some of the project photos show the previous version.
Size of finished animal
Made with worsted weight yarn: 6.6 inch / 17 cm long from nose to tail.
The crochet pattern contains
An intro with useful info. List of materials, tools and accessories needed. Brand and colour numbers of the needed yarn. A clear and colour coded description of how to crochet and assemble the animal. Pictures and illustrations to help getting everything right.
Materials
Istex Lètt Lopi: grey (0057), mixed black (0005 / 0052) and white (0051). You need less than half a skein of each colour. 7 mm animal safety eyes, stuffing materials like fiberfil or wool bolas.
Yarn
Istex Lett lopi. I strongly recommend using a fuzzy yarn because it gives the best result.
Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. If the pieces are crocheted tightly enough, they will not gape visibly when stuffed. You can make a little test swap to be sure.
