THE PATTERN INCLUDES: Row numbers for each step so you don’t lose your place, instructions for making the reindeer and tree, photos, a list of abbreviations and explanation of some techniques, a materials list and recommended yarns. The pattern is 4 pages and written in English.

TECHNIQUES: All pieces are knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight knitting needles, apart from the reindeer antlers which are i-cord pieces knitted on two DPNs. You will need to cast on and off, knit, purl, work increases and decreases, knit i-cord and sew seams.


  • A pair of straight 3.5mm knitting needles (US 4)
  • Two 3.5mm DPNs (US 4) to knit the antlers
  • Double knitting yarns (DK or light worsted weight) in green, brown and beige; less than 50g in each colour
  • Beads for the eyes
  • Toy filling
