Rhodes is a loop scarf that is knit with a reversible knit and purl stitch pattern. This textured scarf adds a touch of elegance to a plain jacket and is a versatile transitional piece that can be worn doubled up as a cowl in cool weather or as a long loop on a warmer day.

The cowl is knit flat starting with a provisional cast on. The ends are grafted together to form a continuous loop. The cowl shown used 2.5 skeins of Madelinetosh Alpaca Sport (available from madelinetosh.com). To substitute, you will need approximately 600yd/550m of sportweight yarn.
