Inspired by the most recent season of Outlander’s sneak peek photos of Brianna and Roger’s wedding at Fraser’s Ridge, Ridge Wedding brings together traditional stitch patterns (garter and trinity stitch) with a bit of 1960’s-1970’s folksy flair, much like the stills from the wedding episode. This shawl was originally designed for a variegated color 1, a solid color 2, and a speckled color 3.

Note: Both original samples used almost all of color 3, and had yardage of 460-480 yards per skein, and testers used almost all of colors 2 and 3. If you are planning to use smaller skeins as colors 2 and 3, there has been an alternate ending tested and written out. Be sure to weigh your yarn as noted in the pattern, prior to bind off. Keep this in mind especially if your gauge differs from pattern gauge, as this can affect size of shawl and yardage used.

Special thanks to Inner Yarn Zen and Urban Girl Yarn for yarn support, to Crafty Flutterby for an epic shawl pin to set off my shawl to perfection, to Dragonfish Handmade for an epic project bag, and to the best bunch of testing friends a designer could ever ask for. Amanda, Brianna, Chanda, Nicole, and Teresa, you pull no punches and made sure every bit of this pattern has been well tested. I appreciate you.
