The inspiration for this pattern came from a medical term called “cardiomyopathy” which cause your heart to become enlarged, thick, or rigid. That is what was incorporated into the puff stitches. Just to show how the heart looks in the state of cardiomyopathy.

With this pattern I designed it in two different sizes. The first one I designed was using clover G (4.0mm) hook. Then, I wanted to create to create using a bigger size to make it a little more squishy and cozy, so I designed the second using Furls Cafe Swirl I (5.5mm) hook. Both sizes are written in the pattern.

I would definitely recommend checking your gauge, as we all don’t crochet with the same tension, and to either go up or down a hook size, to match your gauge tension.

This pattern only calls for 1 skein for the type of yarn suggested. You are more than welcome to use different of type yarn to create this in, but I would recommend matching your hook to the type of yarn you are using.
