Rivendell (every Tolkien fan in the literature world is aware of Rivendell, last homely house east of the sea, mystical refuge of the elves) is texture rich block. the rich texture in petals and borders adds lots of opportunities for color play. This square is my interpretation of “Rivendell City”.

Rivendell is 10’’ square, beginning with floral center, working in rounds, having multiple borders as the square progresses. Reverse puff stitch rounds gives it a nice 3D look. The circle is then squared off and upsized.

I have also added optional rounds transform this square into a unique, Boho looking wall hanging. One side of the square draw the eye to tassels that we can make with independent round (chains and bobbles) .

Skills required:
reverse stitch, split cluster stitch, bobble stitch, puff stitch, cluster stitches, long stitches such as dtr and trtr.

Size:
10’’ with fingering weight yarn and 3mm hook
Square can be easily upsized.
