The Robert Burns Tea Cosy knitting pattern was inspired by the magical and wonderful images conjured up from poems by Robert Burns.

Burns has a cup and saucer at his side, this is a ‘cup o’kindness’, for auld lang syne. and on the cup rests a robin, who might be the same one that cam to a wren’s nest? In his jacket button hole he wears ‘A Red, Red Rose’, and in one of his pockets lives a little mousie who needed a new house after his was spoilt. In Roberts Burn’s hands he carries a platter with a haggis, that he looks as if he were about to address. Around the back of the tea cosy is Nannie wearing her cutty sark. Nannie holding up Maggie’s tail that she pulled off in the chase after Tam O’Shanter.

The Robert Burns tea cosy is such a joy to knit and is perfect for burns night celebrations, and its brilliant for keeping the teapot hot.

The pattern is knitted on two pins and is easy to follow and is mainly worked in stocking stitch; although there is a small amount of cabling for Nannies hair, but you could omit the cable stitch and just knit them if you wanted to.

The tea cosy fits a medium sized teapot that covers a Teapot that holds 6 to 8 cups or 2 pints.

The pattern will be available for digital download as soon as you have completed purchase, so you could start knitting him very soon!

This product is the knitting pattern only to make your own Robert Burns tea cosy.
