Roman Forum Socks PATTERN is a toe-up sock pattern using 2 different fingering weight yarns.

Note: this pattern is the short row heel version. The gusset heel version is no longer available.

These are Fair-Isle knitted socks and the pattern is suitable for advanced beginner to intermediate knitters. Pattern includes color charts for the instep and foot with easy to read symbols. The pattern is in digital (.pdf) form and is available for instant download.

A bit about the sample socks:
When I was younger (and more adventurous) I spent a month back-packing through Italy … alone! It was a once-in-a-lifetime trip and this pattern was inspired by the beautiful marble columns that support the ancient buildings in the Roman Forum. The red version was knitted with a red tonal yarn as the main and a wonderful multi-color as the contrast. These socks feature a center cable and rows of alternating stitches between the cables.

Medium size uses One (1) 50-gram ball of Main Color, One (1) 50-gram ball of Contrast color.
