Perfect for beginners and experienced crocheters alike, this is an easy and quick pattern for a stylish and timeless rose accessory.
This downloadable PDF pattern (29 pages) includes detailed instructions on how to make a beautiful rose with leaves, ideas on how to use it as a hair accessory, to embellish bucket hats, etc. also some basic stitches explanations (for beginners) and a lot of photos to guide you throughout so that crocheting this rose would be an enjoyable experience.
Customize the size using different yarn, cotton or acrylic as you wish. The thicker the yarn, the larger the size of your rose.
For these Rose flowers, I used worsted weight 4 yarn: mohair-acrylic blend yarn, cotton-acrylic blend or wool-acrylic blend yarn.
The Rose measures 4.33 inches across (11 cm), using G-6(4 mm) hook and mohair/ cotton blend yarn; about 5.1 inches (12-13 cm) with bigger size hookG-7/H-8 (4.5/5 mm) and acrylic-wool blend yarn.
The Leaf measures 3/5 cm (1.2 inch/ 2 inches), worked with E-4 (3.5 mm) hook and cotton blend yarn (worsted weight 4 yarn)
Construction:
This rose is crocheted as a flat strip with scalloped edges, then rolled and sewn to form the petals.
The leaf/leaves are made separately, then sewn behind the petals of the rose.
You may attach the finished flower to a hair tie or alligator clip for a lovely hair accessory or to a pin brooch, a key ring, as you wish.
Have fun making these lovely roses in any color you like and give them as unique handmade accessories to your friends and family! ^^
Happy crocheting!
