In this hat, I got to use one of my favorite yarns: Noro Kureyon. I’ve been in love with this yarn for years, and ordered one skein that I split between this hat and the Resist Pussyhat, also in this ebook. You can use any hand-painted or self-striping yarn for the brim and a solid for the top of the hat. I used Manos del Uruguay Maxima for the top of my hat. Both of the yarns I used are singles, that is, they’re not plied. They are light and fluffy and loosely spun. Although you can combine any yarns of the same weight for a simple project like this, I prefer to find yarn that are similar in texture when there are large areas of each yarn. That way the whole piece has the same feel.

This is my version of the catwalk pussyhat, made in worsted weight yarn because sometimes we just don’t have the time to knit hats from fingering weight. (If you want an even bulkier pussyhat pattern, see my free ebook, Knitting as a Political Act.)
