The kitchen’s simplest but perhaps prettiest square can perform several functions. Rute, as a large rectangle, can be used as a kitchen hand towel or table mat, and, the smaller size square, as a napkin. It is crocheted in Colin, a highly absorbent cotton and linen yarn, in a simple technique that produces a smooth fabric that looks as if it were woven. The striping will remind you of old-fashioned handwoven kitchen hand towels.
