This blanket was created for the sailing family. Three sizes of boats bounce smoothly across the blanket on gentle waves. The random placement of the boats results in a more unique pattern, but still at the level of a beginner with some experience or an intermediate knitter.

The blanket is knit on size 10 circular needles, with two strands of Bernat Softee Baby multi-colored (blue/white) yarn. The finished blanket size is 31” x 42”.

Because of the ‘random’ placement of the boats and because there are 3 different sizes of boats, this is a pattern where every row is printed with unique stitch counts. To help you understand where you are in the pattern, the stitches for waves are printed in blue, the small boat in red, the larger boats in bold red, and the background stitches in black.

A graph of the smallest boat (repeated) and the waves are included in the pattern for reference.
