Last summer my family went to the Netherlands. We spent one day in Deventer, where the Lebuïnuskerk (St Lebuinus church) is the main church building. Though it was built in the 15th century, parts of it were older; in the centre of the church was a tile floor (second picture) said to be dating from 1250! Imagine how many people must have walked over it and all the historic events it has “seen”… well worth creating a sweater pattern around.

This sweater is worked top-down, starting with a 1x1 ribbed collar and then worked with raglan increases. The yoke is worked in the main color and then the bottom body and sleeves are worked in stranded colorwork. Sleeves and body are finished with twisted 1x1 ribbing in one of the contrast colors. Sweater length is easy to adjust to longer or shorter.

Sizes follow the Craft Yarn Council standard table for women with 1-4 cm (1-1½ inch) ease, depending on colorwork restrictions.

You will need yarn of four different colors:
MC 47%
CC1 15%
CC2 23%
CC3 15%
The extra 8% for CC2 comes from sleeve and body ribbing.

You can use 3.5mm/US4 circular needles for the whole sweater, or switch to one size larger for colorwork, if you tend to work it tighter.

Testers rated pattern difficulty 4/10.
