Knit with a double strand of worsted-weight yarn on a size 8 needle, these slippers are dense and warm. Knitting this tightly does slow things down, especially on the twisted garter stitch sole, but the end result is well worth the trouble.

For the best fit, make a size that matches or is slightly larger than your foot circumference.

To turn these slippers into a “stash buster” project, use different colors for the sole and the top of the foot (See Blue Garter’s photo for an example).

Because this design originally appeared in a book of men’s patterns, the (unisex) sizing runs towards larger feet. Women with feet size 8 and up should be fine with the sizes given; women with smaller feet may want to work with slightly finer yarn and smaller needles to adjust the size downward.

These slippers are not felted.
