This cabled hat pattern gives you all the options: Instructions are included for working flat or in the round, and the cable pattern is written out, but a chart is included as well for those who prefer. The cable pattern is repeated on the other side of the hat, with the cable panels separated by sections of reverse stockinette stitch.

Worked in aran weight yarn, the hat knits up quickly and looks good on both men and women. Swing into fall or get ready for the holidays!

*This cable is also used in the Cabled Headband with Saxon Braid for a quick project you can make with any yarn (yes, really - any yarn!).

Yarn: Aran weight yarn (stockinette gauge 18 sts to 4”/ 10 cm), about 100 - 130 yards. Because the cable provides visual interest, this pattern looks great with even the most basic solid yarn, but you can give it extra flair using luxury yarn.

Difficulty level: Intermediate. The cable is not complicated, but it helps to have done cables at least once before. A cable chart is provided, but if you prefer to work from written instructions, the pattern is also written out in full, line by line.

Finished measurements: Approx. 18”/ 45 cm circumference, 8”/ 20 cm high.

Pattern support: This pattern has been test knitted. Designer email is included in the pattern in case you run into any questions.
