Saxony is stranded in the round, employing steeks and five wedges. This produced a cute, cape-like piece that comes together at a point in the front and lies straight across the back. Saxony is one of my favorite designs. I love it in the classic colors I originally designed it with, as seen below. I also love it in neutrals, burgundy shades or blues. Change the colors and change the whole mood. This is the perfect shawl for Fall. It is stranded, of course, so there is double wool thickness. It stays put on your shoulders, so there’s no need to have hands hold it in place. Whoever thought up steeks is my hero!
