Being an avid sock knitter I have an insane amount of left over sock yarn. Insane amount. Truly. I’ve always hoarded my leftover bits because I like making stripey scrappy socks and you never know when you’ll need just a bit of color to pop into something else.

But alas, I’m running out of storage! So here is my attempt to destash a bit.

Initially I was thinking of a brioche scrappy blanket, but as much as I love brioche I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Thinking of alternatives I thought about a no purl rib, or fisherman’s rib. I love both, but was really going for the squish factor, so decided on the fisherman’s rib. Again, wanting this to be fun and easy, I opted out of purling so landed on a no purl fisherman’s rib. And because I love a nice edge, built in an icord edge.

SIZE: Blanket measures 44” x 56”

MATERIALS:
32-40” size 6 circular needle
4370+ yards fingering weight yarn (this blanket uses yarn held double)

Blanket used 5 hanks of undyed fingering weight yarn (2185 yards), and
22 colors of leftover sock yarn, each weighting between 20-23g (2185 yards)
