Lots of photos in this pattern make it easy to learn changing colors in Tunisian knit stitch. This scarf is super-warm and double-thick. The yarn color changes every row, making a tiny zig-zag pattern on the front side and a horizontal stripe effect on the back of the fabric.

This pattern is for the scarf only. See this link for the hat pattern: https://www.etsy.com/your/shops/CherylDeeCrochet/tools/li...

This pattern has been fully tested. The final version has been updated and enhanced using the excellent feedback I received from my esteemed testers.

Some of my pattern testers had never done Tunisian crochet before attempting this pattern, but it has sufficient instruction that they were able to execute their projects beautifully.

One size fits all. The scarf shown is 4 inches wide and 64 inches long, not including the fringe.

Special Note - At four inches wide, this scarf is narrow enough that it could be worked with a regular crochet hook. Just wind a rubber band around the end, to keep the stitches from sliding off. However, I don’t recommend doing Tunisian crochet this way long term. It’s much better to use the correct tool for the job. If you’re new to Tunisian crochet, don’t have a Tunisian hook yet, and want to give it a try, though, it can be done.
