Thank you to the test knitters: Shannon, Lise, Joanne, Ann and Christine!

This classic design was created in collaboration with Shepherd’s Hill Farm to celebrate sourcing local fibre. These are the perfect mittens to wear ice skating or sleigh riding and are even more special when a local fibre is used!

You’ll love knitting these simple cabled braids on a bed of smooshy garter stitch. The cuff is made with a twisted rib and the top is slightly pointed. The thumb gusset is worked in Stockinette stitch and the thumb is added at the end.

These mittens are knit from the cuff to the top with a DK weight yarn. They look best in a solid or semi-solid colour. These mittens have three sizes (with adjustable length) and no visible seam.
