This simply constructed shawl shifts through a series of five color changes and textures. From different angles, and in different light, color illusions are created throughout.

  • written pattern

Yardage & yarn notes

The shawl uses five colors, A through E. The ones I used are shown below.

If changing yarn, note that at least 160 yards is needed of colors A, D and E. Slightly less yardage is used for colors B and C. These calculations are good for Sport weight yarn knit at pattern gauge and a shawl of about 22.5”/57 cm down the back.

In the Cascade 220 Sport, I used:
A -Azure
B -Beige
C -Straw
D -Blaze
E -Silver Grey

Color E uses every bit of one skein of 220 Sport.
