I felt that my original short-faux heel slipper socks needed some revision. This version has a little more shaping to fit the foot more snugly, but still has the same easy heel. The shaping makes this pattern a bit trickier than the original, but I think it makes for a much better fit to my foot. (Although, admittedly, I did a weird thing with the toes which… did not need to be done that way. Feel free to ignore the toe-shaping nonsense and use the toe from the original slipper socks.)

The short-row shaping used in this slipper is the same as the short-row shaping used in this hat (free pattern here on Rav--but not my pattern). Perhaps their explanation of the short row is better than mine is.

(Please ignore the not-yet-woven-in-ends.)

ETA December 2011: These slippers wore holes in the toes, too. Darnit! If you’re going to make these, I strongly suggest that you use a yarn with some nylon content to make them harder-wearing.

Items made from my patterns are intended for personal use, sale, or world domination--as long as I get a parking space wherever I want once the world is yours.
