This pattern uses simple stitches to play with yarn and colour. Sibylla is a crescent-shaped shawl for beginners and up. It’s entirely reversible so you can drape it however you like around your neck or over your shoulders.

Knitted from the top down, Sibylla grows into an elongated, rounded shape. Size of the shawl in the photos: wingspan approx 156 cm/61.5”, height at center back approx 40 cm/15.75”.

The pattern is written only. I give detailed instructions so that beginners can work the pattern easily. If you are a more seasoned knitter, a short paragraph at the beginning of each section summarizes the content so you can understand very quickly how to work the following rows.

The shawl in the pictures was knitted with 1 ball of fingering weight merino for the garter stitch sections (col cloud grey) and two balls of textured alpaca for the sections in stockinette and reverse stockinette (col corn and dark red). You will need a total of approx 600m/660yds of yarn, using 3 colours and 200m/220yds of each colour.
