Stripes are the easiest way to add zip to a project. This simple mitten pattern will teach you how to knit stripes in the round for a mitten that fits every member of the family!

Stripes can be a little tricky at first. This pattern includes tips and tricks for how to add colors, change colors, stripe in the round and how to carry your stripes. There are video tutorials on my youtube channel knitable to help you find striping success. Once you get started I dare you to stop!

Stripey mitts are a perfect opportunity for a stash dive. All you need is 2 colors (or more) of worsted weight yarn that are happy next to each other.

MATERIALS
Two skeins of worsted weight yarn (between 20-75 yds depending on the size of the mittens)
A US size 6 circular needle with a 32” - 40” cable (or size needed to obtain gauge)
A tapestry needle for weaving in ends

GAUGE
20 sts and 28 rows over 4”/10cm of stockinette stitch, knit in the round and blocked

SIZES
Baby/child: 3-6m (6-12m: 1-3y: 3-4y: 4-6y: 6-8y)
Women: small (medium: large)
Men: med (large)
