A quintessentially seasonal colourwork hat featuring a striking snowflake design and an (optional) giant pompom.

These three different snawheids show off three great British breed-specific yarns.

Snawheid #1 (light grey / white) is knitted with Shetland Organics 2 ply Shetland (available here) (Shades light grey & white)

Snawheid #2 (dark grey / white) is knitted with Excelana (70% Exmoor; 30 % BFL) (Shades Persian grey and Alabaster)

Snawheid #3 (Winter blue / white) is knitted with Jamieson & Smith 2 ply Shetland Jumper weight (shades FC34 & 1A)

For (optional) large pompom:

2.5mm (UK 13-12/US 1-2) circular needle (or size to get gauge) in the following length: 1 x 40cm/16in
2.75mm (UK 12/US 2) circular needle (or size to get gauge) in the following length: 1 x 40cm/16in
2.75mm (UK 12/US 2) double-pointed needles (dpns) (or your preferred needles for working small diameters in the round) for finishing crown.
