In late October of each year, the lower mainland is home to wondrously dense flocks of Snow Geese, who travel all the way from Russia to feed and socialize. These large birds are easily identifiable in the fields by their beautiful white and grey feathers, which lighten with age and have an unparalleled luster.

Snow Goose Sweater is an elegant knit inspired by these stunning migrants and their tonal feathers. It is a knit for special occasions that celebrates the delicate marbling of Everlea hand-dyed yarn and the drape and shine of merino. The lace panel of the back brings to mind feathers and the stitch definition of the yarn truly brings them to life.

Snow Goose Sweater is knit bottom up in the round to the underarms, and the yoke is then knit flat for both front and back. Joined at the shoulder with a 3-needle-bind-off, sleeves are picked up around the arm-holes and knit down. Short rows are used to provide a flattering and comfortable fit. Snow Goose is meant to fit longer with several inches of positive ease.

Snow Goose Sweater is also available in adult sizes for those of you who can’t resist a matching knit!
