Wrist warmers are a perfect and stylish way to keep your wrists warm both for daily use and as addition to an evening outfit.

Wrist warmers are easy to make as they are knitted entirely in garter stitch. You will need to string the beads onto yarn before you start knitting.

Size:
Fits hand: 19-21 cm (7.5’’-8.3’’) around. Measure ~2 cm (~0.8’’) above your wrist bone.
Length: 10 cm (3.9’’)
Unseamed wrist warmer dimensions: 10 cm x 23 cm (3.9’’ x 9’’)
Resizing guide for other wrist sizes included.
Pattern repeat for resizing is:

  • 24 rows
  • 50 stitches (26 stitches for beaded pattern)
  • 96 beads / single repeat

Gauge:
25 sts x 36 rows = 5 x 5 cm (1.97’’) in garter stitch.

Beads: 1344 beads for a pair.
One wrist warmer needs 672 seed beeds of your favourite size, choose one from 8/0 - 11/0 (2 - 3.2 mm).
Check your bead manufacturer for details: this might be 15 - 40 grams of beads per single wrist warmer as the weight is very different. Be sure to have some extra beads as they sometimes break while knitting.
If you can choose: get the smallest bead with the largest hole in a given size range possible.

Knitting skills needed:

  • garter stitch knitting
  • ability to knit tight (using smaller size needles than recommended by yarn manufacturer)
  • flat knitting
