Sordid Affair Socks is a charted slip-stitch mosaic sock pattern consisting of a mirrored 16-stitch repeat. The pattern is written for toe-up socks using magic loop with an afterthought heel. Other heel styles can be substituted to create a sock with a flattering fit.

This pattern is written for the sock knitter who is familiar with sock construction but has not attempted to introduce colorwork to a sock pattern.

It is recommended to use colors that are in contrast with each other in order to ensure the colors will not be absorbed by the colorwork.

Self-striping yarn, speckled, or variegated yarn can be used in contrast with a solid or tonal color.

The pattern was designed to be knit toe-up using magic loop, however adjustments can be made for the pattern to be knit using other methods with some manipulation.

It is recommended to do magic loop using a minimum of a 32” cable (a 40” cable would be recommended if the socks are being knit two-at-a-time.)

Waste yarn in a similar weight in color not used in the project is recommended to hold the place for the afterthought heel.

A darning or tapestry needle is recommended for kitchener stitching the heel.

The pattern is written for three sizes, stitch count for the smallest size will be outside of the parenthesis, Example: S (M, L)

Sordid Affair was knitted using a total of four (4) 92 yard minis from the Whirlwind Fauxmance Mini Skein Set. Each sock requires one mini skein for the main color and one skein for the contrast color.
