Specklate is a collaboration with Junkyarn for our joint trip to Black Mountain Yarn shop in North Carolina. We decided to use a shocking chartreuse with a neutral, speckled brown to make a statement shawl that will be the showpiece of any ensemble. At the same time, it was also designed to be used with a variegated and a solid – but you get to choose which yarn is the background, as you will get beautiful effects with either choice. Just be a bit daring and and you won’t go wrong!

“Specklate” was actually designed for an upcoming event that Junkyarn and I are doing at Black Mountain Yarn Shop in North Carolina on 9/22-9/24. It is designed to use a speckle and a solid/tonal yarn or a variegated and a solid yarn. The fun is that you get to decide which one is the background! In this design, my background is a taupe speckle. You can see the full shawl when it is released - until then, here is a glimpse! Shown in Hipatia (brown speckled) and Metrodora (chartreuse).

The pattern is a dollar more than my usual shawl patterns - this is to donate more to the charities, so thanks for understanding. Many, many people are in need after these hurricanes. Thank you for using our shared passion to help our fellow humans!
