This 8 sided blanket is made almost entirely with dc and chain stitches from the center out in an unjoined spiral. Stitches are worked between the stitches from the previous row to create a thermal type texture. It’s very quick-to-hook. The blanket can be made any size, with any weight of yarn, using a hook size that works for that yarn. It’s great for using up cake yarns with long colorways, solid colors, and even made with leftover and scrap yarn. A small baby blanket/lap size can be made with one 590 yard cake of Lion Brand Mandala (27.5” across flat sides or 30.5” across point-to-point). The three page pattern has written instructions and some close-up in progress photos. The blanket can be finished by working a final finishing round, adding the border of your choice, or working four corners to turn it into a square.
