This shawl is available either as an individual pattern or as part of the Spirit Collection.

This shawl has been affectionately nicknamed a ‘Boo Hug’. Knit in fingering weight or lace weight yarn it can be worn either as a scarf or shawl, in worsted weight yarn it wraps around you and hugs you warmly. This Spirit of Friendship shawl unites us, as knitters, as women (or men) and as friends; with its lace back panel and plain sides, it is simple enough for a lace beginner to knit, not boring for knitters with more experience, easy to make as large as your yarn will allow and would make a wonderful gift.

Needle sizes vary according to your chosen yarn. You can choose between the garter stitch border or the lace border which be beaded (bead numbers will vary according to how large you make your shawl but the size shown took 300 beads). As for gauge, it is more important to be happy with your fabric and drape than to achieve a predetermined gauge.
