Multicolor Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern | Modern Crochet Baby Blanket

Squishy Squares is a crochet baby blanket pattern for worsted weight yarn.

The sample was worked using 5 braids of Caron Pantone X Bamboo.

Individual squares are worked first using front post double crochet and front post treble crochet stitches. Squares are then joined using a single crochet through one loop method.

Picture tutorials are included for joining method. There are links to picture and/or video tutorials for special stitches and techniques.

Materials Needed:

  • worsted weight yarn in the colors of your choice
  • approximately 180 yards each of four colors of your choice for the squares and 70 yards in an accent color for the first and last border rounds
  • Crochet hook size G or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stitch markers

Level: Advanced beginner.
