This is my shortlist pattern from Brighton Unwind 2013. I Originally designed it in honour of my daughters graduation
She graduated from Sussex University in 2012 with a Masters in physics with astrophysics (Mphys,First with Hons) and hence the name Star Girl.

Update: since I wrote this pattern my daughter has also gained a Doctorate in Theoretical Astrophysics and Cosmology - congratulations Dr Claire!

The pattern includes both a shawl and scarf option in either laceweight or fingering depending on you preference.
It is worked by working one end, then putting it on waste yarn while you work the other end and the centre of shawl before kitchenering (or use a 3 needle bind off) to join the two pieces together.
Beads are optional and are added using the crochet hook method.
