The pattern #14 for Star softy or Christmas decoration by FeltSoapGood.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate.
You need to know basic Knit stitches, how to decrease, and how to cast on.
The only difficulty is using the DPN needles. You need to make sure that there is no “ladder” on the place of the joining the rows.

Yarn: Worsted yarn or medium 10 ply / 12 ply yarn – about 20 gr or about 1 Oz, approximately 30 yards. I used fluffy mohair mix yarn to have and fussy soft look.

You will need stuffing.

A set of 4 or 5 DPN needles. I would advise tight knitting.

Yarn needle (plastic or metal), Scissors
Medium crochet hook – optional for finishing the star.

GAUGE: Is not important, as the softy made with fine yarn will be smaller and with the chunky yarn – bigger.
SIZING: The size of the star will depend on the type of yarn. The Worsted (10 ply) yarn will give about 5” x 5” (12 x 12 cm) size when stuffed.
