This is my original pattern for a 1960s classic Star Trek Phaser Gun soft toy! When made with worsted weight yarn and size 6 needles, it measures about 10 inches long and 9 inches tall. It’s a great knit for science fiction fans! It also makes a great safe toy for children who like to throw things.

This is an intermediate to advanced level softie pattern. You’ll need to know how to knit in the round on double pointed needles and seam neatly using mattress stitch and Kitchener stitch. Please note that there are quite a few “visible” seams on this piece, so for the best-looking toy, it is very important that you are well-versed and patient in these seaming techniques.
