Starting with seven stitches, this hat is knit flat on the bias and has a garter stitch detail where the increases meet with the crown. This is where the starburst decrease comes in and finishes it off with gentle ruching to gather it together. In the end, you have only two yarn ends to sew in and it’s complete! With two options, you can choose between simple stockinette stitch or a stitch pattern option (shown after the main body instructions in a different color) that uses dropped yarn overs to enhance different colors in your yarn. Another one skein wonder to add to your queue when you go through your stash and find that special yarn that you really had no plans for when you purchased it. This is meant to be worn with a positive ease of 1-2 inches and is written for children to adult sizes. The larger sizes are made for bigger haired beauties that don’t want “hat head” when they take this on and off.
