Stonewood is the hat pattern version of the Stonewood pullover, made in the same lovely aran-to-chunky weight yarn Rauma Vams. The decreases for the crown are incorporated into the chart, almost like an Icelandic yoke, but for the head!

Yarn
Rauma Vams (100% Norwegian wool, 83 m / 91 yds, 50 g). 83 m main colour: #12, 20 m contrast colour: #3.

Could be substituted with any aran to chunky weight yarn. You will get the best results if you use a non-superwash woollen spun sheep wool yarn. Alternatives: Hillesvåg Vidde or Varde, Istex Lettlopi or Alafosslopi.

Needles
Gauge-size needles for stockinette and stranded colourwork, 1 mm below-gauge circular needles for ribbed hat brim

The sample was made using 6.5 mm (US 10 1/2) and 5.5 mm (US 9).
