Summer is nigh. Arguably, the best of the fruit seasons. The blossoms have been replaced by fresh, juicy scarlet berries, to be consumed by the pint. Knit a couple of these enticing strawberries in a couple of size variations. Using size US 6/ 4.00mm needles and worsted weight yarn, the finished objects measure roughly 2” long. The berries are worked from bottom up.

NOTIONS:
Pair US 6 / 4.00 mm knitting needles
Embroidery needle

MATERIALS:
3g Red in Heavy Worsted - Aran Weight
1g Green in Fingering or Sock Weight
1g Mustard Yellow in Sock or Sport Weight
Fiberfill or Yarn for Stuffing

GAUGE:
Alternate size needles and yarn can be substituted, but this will affect the size of the finished object. Gauge is not important for this project so long as the yarn is more bulky than recommended for the needle size you have chosen. If you only have fingering weight yarn on hand, hold double to achieve the larger gauge. If your fabric is porous, consider stuffing with shredded yarn in a matching color.

SKILLS:
Basic knitting technique, with simple increases, decreases, and seaming/embroidery.
