This a simple to knit little purse, a project for beginner knitters. I have knitted my purse in stripes, but you could just knit in one colour to make it easier. The purse is closed with a zipper, which is sewn in by hand.

THE PATTERN INCLUDES: Row numbers for each step so you don’t lose your place, instructions for making the purse, a list of abbreviations and explanation of some techniques, a materials list and recommended yarns. The pattern is 2 pages and written in English.

TECHNIQUES: The purse is knitted flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight knitting needles. You will need to cast on and off, knit, purl, knit stripes and sew seams.

  • A pair of straight 3.5mm knitting needles (US 4)
  • DK weight knitting yarns (light worsted weight) in green and cream; less than 10g in each colour
  • A 10cm closed end zipper
