As a knitter I’ve always longed to go to the Orkney Islands - this year I made it as far as a boat trip to Stroma, which fascinated me - inhabited now for over 50 years by just sheep (well, there was a lightkeeper until the 90’s, but no inhabitants since the early 60’s)

so this is a little tribute to the hardy souls who once lived there - and the sheep who still do.

Knitted with DK - aran weight yarn (or lighter weights held double) this is great roadtip knitting - easy to memorize and no cable needle to lose. ☻

Instructions are provided both as a chart and written out, so you can choose whichever you prefer.

Shape is an asymmetric triangle, but not a boomerang, which means the top edge is straighter.
