Gently meandering cables provide the perfect frame for leaf-inspired lace, making this blanket perfect for warm and cool days alike. Ribbed borders and garter edges provide abundant texture and ensure that the blanket lies flat. The Rib pattern and Cable Panel are written out and charted. Choose a solid or mostly solid color to showcase the timeless feel of this classic, unisex blanket.

The blanket is worked flat in one piece in an Aran-weight yarn. The blanket is shown in the carriage blanket size and the pattern includes a larger lap throw size. To make a custom-sized blanket, just add or subtract horizontal repeats of the Rib pattern and Cable Panel and work until the blanket is your desired length. For all sizes, to ensure that you have enough yarn, you may wish to (a) weigh your blanket after completing the bottom border; and (b) save a corresponding weight of yarn for the top border.

PS: the last photo on this page shows the back of the blanket!
