The Sun Spot socks pattern was originally published as part of a fundraising effort for Marie Curie cancer care with the theme “laps around the sun”.  The all-over twisted stitch pattern on the socks looks just like little suns, and the Yarn Unique Solar Flare colourway designed especially to go with the pattern completes the theme.

This pattern is perfect for adventurous beginners who want to add a fun texture to their socks - the twisted stitches stand out on any yarn but particularly well on solid and lightly variegated yarns and you can use any 4ply yarn to knit them.  The pattern has both written and charted instructions, and are just the thing for a holiday knit in the sunshine!

The Sun Spot Socks are constructed as top down socks with a heel flap and gusset.  The heel flap is knitted in Eye of Partridge stitch which creates a durable, cushioned heel. This pattern is written for four sizes, and the length of the sock is easily adjusted for any foot.

You can read the blog post which tells you more about the Sun Spot socks and the yarn here.
