“Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow. It’s what sunflowers do.” - Helen Keller

The Sunflower Banner is created by cross stitching on top of a crocheted panel.

This pattern includes written instructions on how to create the panel, how to cross stitch the design, and how to mount and finish the piece.

This project is written so that even beginner crochet and cross stitchers can complete this project.

The piece uses 3 skeins of MC yarn (for panel and fringe) and scraps of yarn in 7 different colors to create the cross stitching.

The finished panel measures 16“ wide x 20” tall, not including fringe and hanging dowel.

I find that this project works best with a worsted weight cotton yarn, but any yarn can be used. Please note that if you are using a yarn weight other than worsted, your finished project will be a different size than mine.
